logo_kiwanis_seal_gold-blue_rgbThe Clyde and Kathryn Case Shields Kiwanis Legacy Endowment Fund was established to help serve children in need in Aurora and the surrounding area. 2016 marks the 100th anniversary of the Aurora Kiwanis Club, the Premier Service Club in Aurora. The Kiwanis Legacy Endowment Fund will ensure the future of the club for the next 100 years and beyond.

Clyde Shields, President of the Aurora Kiwanis Club in 2015-2016, with board approval, initiated this fund to create an opportunity for the Aurora community and Kiwanis Club members to make an impact by donating to and ensuring a strong future for the club.

Clyde has a long history of volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boy Scouts, Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School, and Kiwanis Club of Aurora. Originally from Wisconsin, Clyde graduated from James Madison Memorial High School in Madison. He has an Associate Degree in Real Estate from Madison Area Technical College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from UW-Stout in Menomonee, Wisconsin. Even though Clyde lives in Naperville, his heart is truly in Aurora.

Kathryn Case Shields, a native of Naperville, graduated from Benet Academy in Lisle. She received a BS in Dairy Science from the University of Illinois and a MS in Animal Physiology from Texas A&M University. After a career as a sales leader in healthcare, she retired in 2014 and continues to consult. Kathryn serves on the board for Naperville Responds for Our Veterans.

Clyde and Kathryn’s son, Jake, will be attending Aurora University in the fall of 2016. Clyde and Kathryn are parishioners of Saints Peter and Paul Church in Naperville.

The Clyde and Kathryn Case Shields Kiwanis Legacy Endowment Fund will provide annual distributions to The Kiwanis Club of Aurora, Illinois Fund, forever!
