In 1992, the Aurora Junior Womans Club established a scholarship to honor club member, Katy Fox.
At the time, Mrs. Fox was a social studies teacher at Washington Middle School, where she also served as the school’s Student Council advisor. She taught in the West Aurora School District for twenty-nine years.
As an active member of the Aurora Junior Woman’s Club, Mrs. Fox directed and produced the club’s annual plays for thirty years. During these years, the benefit plays raised over $150,000 for Aurora charities.
Scholarships from this fund are available to students pursuing studies within the field of education. Preference is given to students pursuing the combined fields of education, communications or theater.
Students must be residents of the City of Aurora and must be graduating from a high school located within the Community Foundation service area.
