The Tom and Cris Anderson Colonial Advisory Fund was created by Tom and Cris Anderson of St. Charles to support their philanthropic objectives.

Cristina Anderson was born and raised in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

She obtained a bachelor of arts degree in physical education from Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and a master of science degree in physical education from Brigham Young University.

Mrs. Anderson coached high school volleyball in Brazil and Utah, and taught physical education for five years.

She also served as an interpreter for McDonalds Hamburger University in Oakbrook and the Food Marketing Institute National Convention in Chicago.

Mrs. Anderson is past president of the Pottawatomie Garden Club, St. Charles High School Parent Teacher Association and Delnor Hospital Auxiliary.

She also is a past board member of the American Association of University Women, St. Charles Chamber of Commerce, TriCity Family Services and Zonta Club.

Honors include Outstanding Young Woman of America – AAUW and William D. Barth Award for Human Services from TriCity Family Services.

In 1985, Mrs. Anderson convened the first Neighborhood Watch meeting at her home in St. Charles. This organization now has become an important part of the community.

She currently is a director of the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Thomas Anderson has been a partner and owner of Colonial Ice Cream since 1964.

Colonial Ice Cream is family owned and his partner for thirty years was his father. His son Clinton now is a partner in the business.

Mr. Anderson attended St. Charles schools and is a graduate of St. Charles High School in 1960.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Augustana College.

His community involvement has included board membership of Baker Community House, Boy Scouts Three Fires Council, Delnor Hospital, Elgin Community College Foundation and United Way of St. Charles.

He also is a member of St. Charles Kiwanis Club, past president of the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the Pride of the Fox Riverfest and member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Awards include 1991 Charlemagne Award for outstanding service to the St. Charles community, Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America and Distinguished Alumni of St. Charles High School.
