The Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley Awards the Ecker Center $10,000 Grant
The Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley has awarded The Ecker Center for Mental Health a grant in the amount of $10,000 to be used to purchase new computer servers and related hardware. The Center’s servers run all electronic medical records as well as billing, client scheduling, accounting, payroll, email and internet access.
“We are very grateful for this very generous grant from the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley, which will allow us to replace the servers before they fail. With new servers in place, the Ecker Center will be able to continue serving 3,300 persons with severe mental illnesses annually without service interruptions,” states Karen Beyer, Ecker Center’s Executive Director.
Founded in 1955, The Ecker Center is the only comprehensive mental health agency serving adults with moderate to severe mental illnesses in northern Kane County or Barrington or Hanover Township. Their psychiatric in-person emergency program also serves children and teens. Other services for adults are: psychiatry, nursing, case management, individual and group therapy, rehabilitation groups, and a large residential program which includes 24 hour supervised, supported and a short term residence for those in psychiatric crisis. The Ecker Center primarily serves low and very low income people.
