Outdated Computers To Be Replaced
DayOneNetwork is so grateful to have received approval for a grant from the Community Foundation of Fox River Valley in the amount of $6,075 for computers and computer equipment. This grant enables DayOne to replace outdated equipment and software as well as replace equipment that is at capacity. With state budgets cuts, staff has had to serve higher caseloads and have had to make sacrifices to maintain quality services. The Foundation grant will help improve working conditions and provide staff with up-to-date technology to do their jobs more effectively and efficiently.
DayOne is a non-for-profit, community agency located in Geneva serving children and adults with developmental delays and/or disabilities in our service area (Kane and Kendall Counties and Hanover Township of Cook County). The agency serves as the “front door” to the service delivery system “to find solutions” and “to make connections” for children and adults with special needs in order to access needed services and supports. In the past year, DayOne served over 3200 children and adults.
“We are thankful to the Community Foundation of Fox River Valley and its Board in providing the funds to purchase the needed computer equipment, said Joyce Helander, Executive Director of DayOneNetwork. It means a great deal to have the Foundation as a valuable resource to the non-for-profit community.” The Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt, philanthropic organization that administers individuals charitable funds from which grants and scholarships are distributed to benefit the citizens of the Greater Aurora Area, Southern Kane County and Kendall County, Illinois.
