FAQ Page

What type of organizations can apply to receive a grant?

Grants will support 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations only. Educational institutions, educational foundations, and private schools are not eligible to apply at this time.

Can I apply for this program as an individual seeking funding? (If not, where can I receive assistance?)

Grants will not support individuals but will instead support nonprofits in the community that can then assist individuals.

Those seeking assistance who reside in Kane County are encouraged to call 2-1-1, a free community resource. Those residing in Kendall County are encouraged to call Kendall County Health Department at 630-553-9100. These lines are available 24/7.

How will grant requests be reviewed?

Requests will be reviewed by a committee with representatives from each of the five grantmakers that provided the initial funding, including Aurora Women’s Empowerment Foundation, Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley, Dunham Fund, Fox Valley United Way, and INC Board.

If I’ve applied, when will I hear back regarding my request?

Agencies can expect to receive a response within 2-3 weeks.

What type of support can nonprofit organizations request?

Agencies can ask for support for operating, program, or capital needs related to services delivered during this COVID-19 crisis.

What is the deadline for applications?

There currently is not a deadline for applications. Grant applications will be reviewed weekly and funding will be distributed as it is available. Due to the nature of this pandemic, it is unknown how long this grant program will remain in operation at this time.

How do I know if my nonprofit should apply for funding?

It is our goal to provide funding immediately to agencies that are providing the most essential services to meet basic human needs. It is helpful for us as a group, however, to know the struggles that nonprofits are experiencing from all areas. We are encouraging agencies to apply if they have been impacted by the COVID-19 crisis and are having to serve their clients in new and different way and maintain operations with limited budgets.
