DayOneNetwork Receives $12K Grant
From Community Foundation

Daily Herald
Tuesday, December 2, 2008

The DayOneNetwork recently received three new grants from local foundations. DayOneNetwork is a nonprofit, community-based agency located in Geneva providing service coordination and advocacy services to children and adults with developmental delays and/or disabilities and their families.

Grants from the Hansen-Furnas Foundation in Batavia and the Community Foundation of Fox River Valley in Aurora will assist DayOne in its efforts to expand and upgrade its telephone technology to better serve its consumers and to more efficiently address its growth needs.

The Hansen-Furnas Foundation has worked jointly with other foundations to help make major goals a reality for nonprofits which serve individuals in the Fox Valley area.

The Community Foundation of Fox River Valley is a publicly supported community trust whose funds come from an accumulation of many charitable gifts contributed over the years by civic-minded donors and are carefully distributed to various nonprofit organizations which serve the people of the greater Fox Valley area. This grant specifically was distributed from the Conrad and Doris Brassine Fund.

Thanks to the Kane County Riverboat funding, DayOneNetwork has been awarded a grant for the purchase and installation of a new computer server. This award is very crucial to the technology needs of the agency as the old server was failing and put the agency's data at imminent risk. The grant will assist DayOne to expand and to upgrade its technology to better serve its consumers and to more efficiently address its data and service needs.

Persons residing in Kane and Kendall Counties and Hanover Township of Cook County are eligible for DayOne services at no cost to the individual. DayOne and its programs as the front-door to the service delivery system "guide those we serve and their families through the maze of community services to access needed supports and services."
