She was a longtime resident of Aurora, born June 8, 1956 to G. William and Mary D. Richards. Mr. Richards was a well-known Aurora attorney and Mrs. Richards was a long serving member of the Kane County Board. Becky Thompson was a 1974 graduate of West Aurora High School. She received her B.A. degree from Northern Illinois University. Mrs. Thompson spent most of her career in the legal profession, most recently as a legal secretary with Nealis & Garrow, Batavia, Illinois. She was also a part time employee of the Aurora Public Library for the past 10 years. Survivors include her brothers, Tom (Kathy) and Chip (Stefene) Richards; her sisters, Debbie (Carl) Angello, Robin (Larry) Nelson, Mimi (Jeff) Steinwart and Amy Richards. She also was survived by an uncle Frank Fox, aunts Nancy Skeldon and Barbara (Earl) Steinke, cousin Karen (Jim) Bozarth, and many other cousins, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Thompson, Jr., parents, G. William and Mary D. Richards, and aunts Katy Fox and Anne Joel. Included among her many interests were reading, her Friday night book club gatherings, and bingo. She also treasured her cat, Junior Ariel.
