Senator Robert & Helen Mitchler
Robert and Helen Mitchler are both natives of Aurora and graduates of East Aurora High School.
Mr. Mitchler graduated from Aurora College and Mrs. Mitchler from the Copley Hospital School of Nursing.
Robert Mitchler was employed with the CB&Q Railroad and Northern Illinois Gas Company.
He is a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
He was elected to the Illinois State Senate and appointed to serve with the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs.
Mrs. Mitchler's career in nursing was with Copley Memorial Hospital and the Dreyer Medical Clinic.
Both have been active in community service – Robert Mitchler serving with numerous military and veteran organizations and Helen Mitchler with social, political and medical support units.
Mrs. Mitchler's active work with the National Society Daughters of The American Revolution earned her election as National Vice President General.
Since 1953 they have lived in rural Oswego in Kendall County.
