This fund was created from the proceeds of the estate of Brian Alexander Harty by his parents and sister to honor his memory.
Brian Harty (1975-2002) was a 1997 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He had worked in radio production for stations in Chicago and Raleigh.
Brian was an avid runner, twice completing the Chicago Marathon. He also was an amateur oil painter and a fan of many different genres of music.
This fund supports research and education in the areas of depression and suicide prevention.
