FAFSA & SAR (Student Aid Report) Information
Applicants to our Scholarship Program may choose to submit a Student Aid Report (SAR) if they wish to be considered for either a Traditional Scholarship or a Merit Scholarship. If they wish to be considered for a Merit Scholarship only, an SAR is not required. (Please see our Scholarship Program Guide to learn about Traditional and Merit Scholarships.)
The SAR is a summarization of the information provided on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form and contains an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) number. This number is used by our Scholarship Program to determine your eligibility for a Traditional Scholarship. The EFC will appear in the upper portion of a paper SAR or an electronic SAR.
The SAR is obtained by completing and submitting a FAFSA form. Once the FAFSA is received, the federal government will process it and produce a Student Aid Report (SAR).
If the FAFSA form is submitted online and a valid e-mail address is provided, an e-mail will be sent within a few days that will contain a secure link to access the SAR on the Web. If a paper FAFSA is submitted or a valid e-mail address was not provided, a paper SAR will be sent in approximately three to four weeks after the submission of the FAFSA.
Following is an SAR form in various formats. If you choose to submit an SAR form to our Scholarship Program, please send one of the following formats. You may click on the images below for a larger view.
